Meadowhawk Farm

Johanna Rosen launched Meadowhawk Farm in 2018 at her home in Montague, Massachusetts, on traditional Pocumtuc land. Jo uses low-till practices to grow vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs on less than an acre, set amidst meadow, forest, and wetland ecosystems. She is proud to embrace her role as a seed steward, and to be part of efforts to promote seed sovereignty, biodiversity, resilience, and varieties that will thrive in organic and regenerative systems in the northeast.

Jo also works off-farm with Agrarian Trust, a national land trust supporting community-based farmland commons. Previously, she spent over a decade working in the urban agriculture movement in Philadelphia, including as co-founder and director of the Mill Creek Farm.
