Planting / harvesting notes
Plant seeds in early spring for late spring or early summer harvest. This crop is a perennial, so expect harvests in future years! If allowed to go to seed, chives will soon spread to other parts of the garden. Prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade.
Seed keeping notes
Allow flowers to dry on plant. When you see that they have dried and that they have formed small black seeds, harvest the seed heads and knock their seeds into a bowl. Allow them to dry further in a ventilated, dry place before putting in storage.
